Reaching Bradford for Christ

Evangelism · Re-digging the Wells

Every Saturday and throughout our seven-day summer outreach, we share the hope of Jesus with our city.

A church reaching beyond its walls

“A church not reaching out is passing out.” At Newjoy, evangelism is central to our calling. Romans 1:16 reminds us that the Gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. We therefore seek to make Jesus known through compassionate, respectful and courageous witness across Bradford and beyond.

Weekly street evangelism

Our outreach team goes into the community every Saturday to speak with people, listen to their stories, offer prayer where welcomed, share the Christian message and invite interested individuals to discover more about Jesus and the life of the church. We seek to treat everyone with dignity, whether or not they share our faith.

Re-digging the Wells · Summer outreach

Every July, Newjoy organises an intensive seven-day programme of prayer and evangelism across Bradford and surrounding areas. The programme uses a variety of outreach approaches and includes an outdoor Gospel gathering in the city, subject to the relevant arrangements and permissions.

Seven days of Gospel witness

Prayer for the city

We begin in prayer, asking God for wisdom, compassion and opportunities to serve the people of Bradford.

Community conversations

Volunteers engage respectfully with residents, offer encouragement and share the Gospel with those who wish to listen.

Creative outreach

Depending on the year’s programme, outreach may include worship, testimony, community invitations, literature and practical acts of kindness.

Outdoor Gospel gathering

A public opportunity to hear Christian teaching, experience worship and connect with Newjoy for prayer, discipleship or further conversation.

More than an event

Our desire is not simply to hold a summer campaign. We want people who respond to the Gospel to find genuine Christian friendship, biblical discipleship and a supportive church family. Newjoy’s wider prayer meetings, house fellowships and School of Spiritual Maturity help provide that ongoing pathway.

We welcome members and volunteers who wish to serve. Training, safeguarding, permissions and the safety of both volunteers and members of the public remain important parts of every outreach activity.
